The Texas Rollergirls’ travel team, the Texecutioners, are competing at the annual Women’s Flat Track Derby Association national tournament held in Philadelphia this weekend, November 13-15.

Watch from home or join us at The Jackalope in downtown Austin to cheer on the team and watch the hard-hitting action of the Texecutioners’ games streamed live on Derby News Network.

The Texecutioners will accept their first challenge at 9:00 a.m. (central time) on Saturday, November 14.

If they win, they will be playing again at 5:00 p.m. (central time) on Saturday, November 14 for a spot in the final bracket.

If all goes as planned, The Texecutioners will be playing for The Hydra Trophy at 3:00 p.m. (central time) on Sunday, November 15.

This explanation of the brain is amazing. Alzheimer’s is a sad thing and the graphics for the Alzheimer’s sections has less appealing graphics. Fascinating, none the less. Suppport the Alzheimer’s Association. I still can’t believe Soleil Moon Frye beat Terrel Owens!!!!! I bet he didn’t care because Soliel is cute and his poor grandma has Alzheimer’s. My grandmother had it, too.

These are my favorite photos from Damascus, Syria.  We definitely weren’t in Kansas anymore but it was an unbelievable experience a lot like a James Bond Movie.

I saw the Umayyad Mosque which has a shrine wsaid to contain the head of John the Baptist (Yahya), honored as a prophet by Muslims and Christians alike and the tomb of Saladin, which stands in a small garden adjoining the north wall of the mosque.

I didn’t take this photo. Just thought it was really cool.

In 2001 Pope John Paul II visited the mosque, primarily to visit the relics of John the Baptist. It was the first time a pope paid a visit to a mosque.

Horse Head Theatre is one of Groovee Fortune’s new clients. Recently I went with my awesome football fanatic husband to see a to Houston Texans game complete with Brett Farve and then got to hang out with the a few members of the cast and crew of Red Light Winter, the premiere performance of  Horse Head. The reviews are fantastic and I was delighted to learn my dear friend and college drinking buddy, Kevin Holden was the director. Kickass! If you are in Houston try to catch a show by this unconventional and daring new theatre group. I haven’t seen the show yet, but these people are going to entertain the hell out of you.
